Miguel Gonzalez, 25, was shot and killed on December 7, 2019, during a quinceañera at Club Fenix, 2151 Ocoee Apopka Road in Ocoee, Florida. An argument broke out after an uninvited guest, 18-year-old Pablo Jaimes, was asked to leave. As Gonzalez escorted Jaimes out, Jaimes produced a firearm and shot Gonzalez in the chest. Gonzalez was taken to Advent Health Apopka and then airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he died during surgery.
Jaimes fled the scene but witnesses identified him as the shooter and an abandoned BMW registered to his father was found in the club parking lot, linking him to the incident. Jaimes was arrested and initially charged with second-degree murder; he later pleaded guilty to manslaughter and received a 10-year prison sentence with credit for 114 days served. Gonzalez’s family expressed that the reduced charge and sentence were too lenient.
Did anyone attend that event or know more about the security and what led to the confrontation?
