Jafet Padin Rodriguez, 33, of Ocala, Florida, was found dead on August 11, 2019, on the side of the road in southeastern Levy County near Morriston. Earlier that night he had been reported missing by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and his vehicle was located in Marion County, fully engulfed in flames.
Investigators say Rodriguez was lured to a Marion County home belonging to Kesia Moraima Mundo-Munoz, where he was beaten, placed in his own vehicle and driven to Morriston, where he was shot to death. His vehicle was then torched and abandoned. Motive was believed to involve a misunderstanding over text messages and a suspected love triangle; investigators later determined Rodriguez was not involved in that situation.
Four people have been arrested and charged in connection with the killing, and multiple agencies from Levy and Marion counties and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement worked the case. Did anyone in the area know Rodriguez or see his vehicle the night of August 11, 2019?
