Eric Scott was 25 and a resident of Miami Gardens, Florida, when he was shot and killed outside a Family Dollar on the 1700 block of Northwest 183rd Street on July 29, 2019. Surveillance footage shows Scott speaking with another person near the store entrance; as Scott began to walk away the other individual approached, a physical fight followed, and the assailant produced a firearm and shot Scott multiple times before fleeing.

Family described Scott as a good person who struggled with mental health issues. Investigators say Scott may have known his attacker, noting he appeared to be communicating with the shooter before the confrontation, which has led them to consider a possible personal motive.

If anyone witnessed the shooting or has information about who the man on the surveillance footage might be, please share it with the Miami Gardens Police.
