Angela Limbaugh, 51, died on June 19, 2019, after a fire consumed her home at 16663 SE 53rd St in Ocklawaha, Florida. Marion County firefighters found the house fully engulfed with part of the structure collapsed; a cache of ammunition inside began discharging during the blaze. After extinguishing the fire, crews discovered Limbaugh’s body in the charred remains.
Authorities say Limbaugh’s 22-year-old son, Colby Glen Larue, turned himself in at a Marion County sheriff’s office shortly after the incident and allegedly confessed to shooting his mother twice in the head, shooting the family dog twice, then setting his mattress on fire before leaving the house. Larue told detectives he had been watching YouTube videos that made him paranoid and that he believed someone was going to harm his mother. He was arrested and charged with first-degree arson of a dwelling and homicide.
Anyone who knew Angela or has information about the events leading up to that night is asked to come forward.
