Eduardo Gutierrez Valdez, 64, was shot to death on May 27, 2019, around 5 p.m. on Willow Street in Zellwood, Florida. Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about an aggravated battery and found him deceased at the scene from a fatal gunshot wound.
At the time of the shooting he had a warrant for his arrest stemming from a 2016 traffic stop when state troopers reportedly found a few ounces of cocaine in his car; he had missed a scheduled plea and a court hearing in 2017. Neighbors who knew him as Eddie described him as calm and loving and said he was not a bad person despite his legal troubles.
Authorities have not released a description of a suspect and have not confirmed whether the killing was related to drugs. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating and asking anyone with information to come forward.
If anyone knew Eduardo or has information about what happened that evening, please share what you know with investigators.
