Hey everyone, I've been following Cordell Smart's case and something that's been bothering me is the fact that the place where this all happened was just a normal neighborhood in Fort Walton Beach. It's terrifying to think that Cordell was just there to drop off his dog, doing something so normal and everyday, when everything turned tragic in an instant. The thought of his family, knowing he was just trying to do a good deed and ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time, is truly devastating. As someone who lives nearby, it makes me uneasy about how quickly a sense of safety can be shattered in a community. I hope the pain his loved ones feel can eventually be eased with time and justice, and that the community can come together to ensure something like this never happens again. ?
