Ahmad McAllister, a 32-year-old African American man, was found dead inside a vehicle after a crash on NW 1st Street in South Bay, Florida, on February 1, 2019. Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived around 10:15 p.m. and discovered McAllister with an apparent gunshot wound. An autopsy confirmed the gunshot as the cause of death and investigators determined the death to be a homicide rather than a simple traffic accident.

The PBSO Violent Crimes Division and crime scene investigators handled the case but reported no immediate suspects or motives. The investigation has been hindered by a lack of witnesses and clear evidence, and authorities appealed to the public for information. No arrests have been announced and the case remains open.
