I came across this sad case involving Louis "Steve" Mamakos, and I can't help but think about how incredibly difficult it must have been for his family. To have a loved one struggle with uncontrollable pain and then lose them so suddenly is unimaginable. It's especially tough to hear that his family had no idea another firearm was in the house; they must feel a mixture of grief and confusion. Has anyone been able to find out more about how he managed to acquire the gun? Also, the fact that he had been released from the hospital just ten days before makes me question whether there was adequate support following his discharge. It highlights a broader issue in mental health care where follow-up and monitoring can sometimes fall through the cracks. ❤️ My heart goes out to his wife and son as they navigate through this tragedy.
