Every time I think about Gretchen and her kids, my heart goes out to them and the pain they must have suffered. What really stands out to me is the role her mother played in this tragedy. Can you imagine how terrifying it must have been for her? Being present during such an unimaginable situation and managing to escape to call for help shows incredible strength. I can't help but wonder how she's coping now, having witnessed something so traumatic. Her presence and quick response likely saved McKenna some precious time, and it’s haunting to think what she must relive in her mind every day. It's a chilling reminder of how domestic violence affects not just the immediate victims, but ripples through entire families and communities. I hope the community continues to support her and the extended family as they try to heal from this nightmare.
