Frederson Philippe, 26, was found dead on November 9, 2018, in Lake Worth, Florida. His body was located in the bushes at the Worthington Apartments on Pinestead Drive. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported he had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head from a .40 caliber firearm.
Philippe had been reported missing by his family on November 4; a missing persons alert was issued on November 8. Investigators linked his death to a drug deal that turned into a robbery and shooting. Authorities arrested 19-year-old Reginald Owens and charged him with first-degree murder. Owens told investigators Philippe had contacted him to buy a large amount of marijuana, that Owens arranged the transaction with two others who intended to rob Philippe, and that after the shooting Owens found Philippe’s body in the back seat of his car and helped move it into the bushes. They later attempted to dispose of the car in a lake in Belle Glade but were interrupted.
If anyone knew Philippe, his movements in early November 2018, or has information about the transaction that led to his death, please come forward.
