Michael Robin Griffin, 56, was shot and killed on October 12, 2018, in the parking lot of a Walmart in Coconut Creek, Florida. Griffin, originally from Zeeland, Michigan, and an executive vice president for GBI Intralogistics Solutions in Deerfield Beach, had gone to the store to buy medication for a friend when he was confronted by three teenagers attempting to carjack his Chevrolet Camaro. Griffin, who had attended Michigan Technological University and once served as an emergency medical technician in his hometown, was found next to his vehicle in the early hours of October 12.

Authorities identified and arrested three teenagers in connection with the incident: Dominic Soto, 16; Jermaine Atterbury, 18; and Jason Prendergast Jr., 18. All three were indicted on murder charges; Soto and Atterbury, though underage at the time, were charged as adults and held without bond.

Griffin’s family, friends, and colleagues remembered him as kind, hardworking, and selfless. Does anyone have information about Griffin’s final movements in Coconut Creek or witnessed the incident?
