Paul Wade, 46, of Altha, Florida, was found dead in his home on May 18, 2018, with multiple injuries consistent with foul play. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office opened the death investigation as a homicide.
Authorities identified several potential suspects and arrested two men in connection with Wade’s killing. Charles Matthew Gable, 35, was charged with second-degree murder; Christopher Edward Vickery, 36, was charged with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder. Witnesses testified that Wade and Gable had a heated argument the night of the death that escalated into a physical altercation, and evidence presented at trial indicated Vickery assisted in attempting to cover up the crime.
Gable was found guilty of second-degree murder and received a lengthy prison term. Vickery cooperated with authorities, provided information during the investigation, and received a reduced sentence for his role as an accessory. Did anyone in Altha know Paul Wade or have information about the events of May 18, 2018?
