It's truly devastating to think about how a young life was senselessly cut short while trying to do the right thing. Damas Ilceus was only 21, with so much ahead of him, and it’s hard not to feel for his friends and family who are undoubtedly going through a tough time. I can't help but reflect on how brave he was to step in and try to de-escalate the situation. What's concerning is the aftermath, particularly the community’s response. There seems to be a lot of talks about youth violence and how gun access plays a role in these tragic events. This isn't just about justice for Damas, but also about how we can work together to prevent another tragedy in the future. It makes me wonder what kind of community programs or interventions could be put in place to help at-risk youth before it's too late. If anyone has seen communities successfully address these issues, I'd love to hear about it. We all need to be part of the solution.
