I was reflecting on the life and legacy of Aaron Feis, and it's truly humbling to hear about the profound impact he had on his students and community. As an assistant coach and security guard, Feis seemed to be more than just an authority figure; he was a mentor, a role model, and a friend to so many. It's evident that his selflessness on that tragic day was a natural extension of who he was in life—a protector and guide for young people. His willingness to put others before himself, even in the most dire of situations, speaks volumes about his character. I can't help but think about the incredible support he must have given to those around him, not just on that day but throughout his time at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. For those who knew him or were touched by his actions, his legacy must bring mixed emotions: immense pride in his bravery and deep sorrow over his loss. In a world where we often hear about negative influences on youth, Aaron Feis stands out as a beacon of positivity and genuine care. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and the entire Parkland community who continue to honor his memory.
