Chrystal Anette Terry, 41, was reported missing from her Summerfield, Florida, home on December 21, 2017. She was 18 weeks pregnant when she disappeared; family and investigators noted she missed a scheduled doctor’s appointment and failed to pick up a money-gram the next day, actions that investigators say make a voluntary departure unlikely. Her husband, Vincent LaSara Terry, reported her missing on December 25, saying she had walked away and suggesting she had a drug problem.

Marion County detectives later found multiple photographs on Vincent Terry’s cell phone showing a nude woman with facial trauma, blood on her upper body, and a gunshot wound to the stomach; tattoos in the images matched Chrystal’s. Officers also recovered a .22 caliber rifle and ammunition at the couple’s home and documented substantial blood in the carpet and sub-flooring. Vincent Terry was arrested and charged with second-degree murder; he admitted taking the photos and acknowledged an argument the night she disappeared, while denying responsibility for killing her.

The investigation includes a prior 2014 arrest in El Paso County, Colorado, in which Vincent was charged with attempting to murder Chrystal but the case was dropped after she declined to cooperate. Anyone who knew Chrystal, her movements in mid-December 2017, or who has information about the case is asked to come forward.
