Felix Diaz, a 28-year-old Hispanic man from Broward County, was fatally shot on November 13, 2017, after arriving at his sister’s apartment in Coconut Creek while planning to visit his mother. Two masked men confronted him as he approached; his mother heard a gunshot and banging at the door, and Felix called out to her that he had been shot before collapsing. He was taken to North Broward Hospital and died there several hours later.

Investigators say the assailants shot him in the chest and leg, then fled in a late 1990s or early 2000s blue Honda Civic hatchback with a black spoiler. Witnesses reported the vehicle backed into a parking spot, which they found unusual. The suspects remain at large and police have offered a reward for tips leading to an arrest.

Felix lived in Coconut Creek, attended Taravella High School in Coral Springs, and his sister Vanessa Diaz described the family as shocked and numb. Anyone with information about the shooting or the vehicle is asked to come forward.
