Marvin Peacock, a 21-year-old African American man from Fort Myers, was shot and killed on November 12, 2017, near the intersection of Pauldo and Thomas streets. Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 7:35 p.m. and found Peacock lying on the ground; he died at the scene despite efforts to save him. Police say he was shot while walking along the road and that witnesses provided limited information, leaving gaps in the timeline of what led to the shooting.
Peacock was known in the community and remembered by friends and family, including his younger brother Kimar Peacock, then a senior at North Fort Myers High. In April 2019 the Fort Myers Police Department charged 22-year-old Kendal James Curry with second-degree murder in connection with the killing; Curry was reportedly already in federal custody on unrelated charges at that time. Investigators asked anyone with additional information to come forward.
If anyone knew Marvin, saw activity near Pauldo and Thomas streets that evening, or has information relevant to the case, please share what is known.
