Lyoness Rollie Williams, a 39-year-old African American man, was found dead in his Lauderhill, Florida, residence on November 2, 2017. Initial reports say he suffered multiple gunshot wounds and authorities classified the death as a homicide.
Investigators from multiple law enforcement agencies handled the case. Early on there were no immediate arrests or publicly identified suspects; detectives interviewed witnesses, followed leads, and appealed to the community for information. A reward was offered for tips that could lead to an arrest.
In later months a new lead reportedly led to the identification and arrest of a suspect who faced first-degree murder charges, and the prosecution’s account described the killing as premeditated. The conviction was reported to have brought relief to the victim’s family.
If anyone knew Lyoness, saw activity around his home in late October or early November 2017, or has information that wasn’t previously shared with investigators, please come forward.
