Andrew Glover III, a 21-year-old from Tallahassee, Florida, was shot six times in the early morning hours of September 13, 2017, in the parking lot shared by Pita Pit and a Waffle House on West Tennessee Street. He was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, underwent surgery, and died of his injuries.
Earlier that night both groups had been at Club Play, where an initial tussle between a friend of Glover’s and members of Johnny Anderson III’s group escalated. Officers briefly defused the situation by escorting Glover to a vehicle, but the parties agreed to meet later in the nearby parking lot, where Glover was confronted and shot. Investigators say the dispute began over a girl.
The Tallahassee Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit conducted an extensive five-month investigation. A confidential informant provided information leading to the arrest of 22-year-old Johnny Anderson III, who was charged with first-degree murder after coordination with the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
Did anyone who was in Club Play that night or in the parking lot come forward with observations that could add clarity to what happened?
