James Charles Patterson Jr., 27, of Williston, Florida, died following a violent home invasion on August 4, 2017. Patterson had just returned from buying school supplies for his children when the attack occurred; he died en route to the hospital after a fatal confrontation inside his home.

The Levy County Sheriff’s Office identified and arrested multiple suspects. Two teenagers were charged with murder and authorities described the invasion as premeditated and intended as a robbery. A third person, 34-year-old Steven Demar Stacy, was arrested on allegations he disposed of the firearms used in the crime; the weapons have not been recovered.

The community and Patterson’s family mourned a father taken in a violent incident, and investigators continued to gather evidence and build the case. If anyone knew Patterson, the suspects, or has information about the firearms or that night, please come forward.
