Santo Clourido Rodriguez, a 21-year-old from Ocoee, Florida, was shot on May 9, 2017, at the Market Square strip mall in Casselberry, near the corner of State Road 436 and Howell Branch Road just before 11 p.m. Police reports say he was shot in the chest, tried to drive away for help, and crashed into a pillar outside a business; he was later found deceased at the crash site. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots, seeing the crash, and some described a scuffle involving multiple people before the shooting.

Investigators say Rodriguez had met at least one other person in the parking lot before the altercation. Surveillance footage showed a white Chrysler 300 in the area; authorities later identified that vehicle as involved and describe the fleeing suspect as a man in his mid-20s with medium-length dreadlocks. In December 2017 Erric Pipkin was arrested and charged in Rodriguez’s homicide after authorities matched surveillance footage and witness testimony that showed Pipkin waiting in the lot and engaging in a dispute with Rodriguez before the shooting.

Anyone who knew Rodriguez or witnessed the events that night is asked to share information.
