Anna Louise Brown, 38, of Molino, Florida, was fatally shot while jogging on Gibson Road on the afternoon of April 30, 2017. Her body was found face down near the Alligator Creek bridge; she had been shot multiple times. Witnesses in the area reported seeing an older-model silver vehicle around the time of the killing and hearing six to eight gunshots.

Anna had recently finalized a divorce from Manuel De-Jesus Vega; family members described a history of verbal and physical abuse by her ex-husband, a detail noted by investigators, but no suspect has been named by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. The case was one of four examined at a Cold Case Symposium convened by the Sheriff’s Office to generate new leads.

Anna worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant, was active in her church and community, and was a devoted mother to two children. Anyone with information on what happened that afternoon is asked to contact the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
