Jeffrey Todd Aaron Jr, 26, of Ocala, Florida, was shot multiple times on March 1, 2017, in Silver Springs Shores and died after being taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center. The Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide.

Witnesses said Aaron had been yelling at his cousin while she packed; her boyfriend, 19-year-old Kasaan Kalik Patterson, arrived and a confrontation ensued. Patterson fired multiple shots, and investigators recovered shell casings, broken glass, blood stains, a bullet hole in the garage door, and surveillance footage from a nearby home showing the men together before the shooting. Patterson was arrested, charged with murder, booked into the Marion County Jail and later released on bond.
