Kolton Shearer was an 18-year-old high school baseball player from Middleburg, Florida who was killed on July 10, 2016, in Green Cove Springs. Once there, Shearer was ambushed by Jordan Coleman, Taurean Johnson, and Ozell McNabb Jr.; he was shot and killed, one friend was injured, and another escaped.

All four suspects were arrested. Schreffler pleaded to armed robbery in 2016 in return for testimony against the others and received a 15-year sentence. Jordan Coleman pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years in July 2018. Taurean Johnson and Ozell McNabb Jr. later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received sentences of more than 25 years in February 2019. Shearer’s mother addressed the court at Schreffler’s sentencing, blaming Schreffler for her son’s death and describing the lasting impact on her family.

Did anyone who knew Kolton or saw him in Middleburg or Green Cove Springs around July 2016 notice anything that could help clarify the events that night?
