Kenneth Washington, a 47-year-old Black man, was killed in Temple Hills, Maryland, during the winter of 2015. Police responded to a reported shooting on the afternoon of January 8 and found Washington inside his apartment on the 3100 block of Good Hope Avenue with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. A separate report described him as having multiple gunshot wounds on a sidewalk in the 3800 block of 28th Avenue and being pronounced dead there early in the morning, so accounts differ on the location and some details.
Detectives early in the investigation said they did not believe the act was random and that the preliminary motive appeared to be robbery. The Prince George’s County Police Department Homicide Unit has been investigating but no arrests have been announced and the case remains unsolved. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide Unit or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Solvers.
