Evan Godwin, 25, of Valrico, Florida, was shot and killed on April 21, 2016, in the parking lot of the One Night Stand bar. Godwin, a U.S. Army veteran who had recently moved from Loveland, Colorado, and was attending Hillsborough Community College, was found deceased after an altercation with Logan Schwab, 29, a fellow bar employee.

Reports state the two men exchanged words in the parking lot, the dispute escalated, and Schwab produced a gun and shot Godwin multiple times in the upper body. Deputies arriving on scene found Godwin dead. Schwab was arrested, admitted to the shooting during interviews with detectives, and was charged with second-degree murder and held without bond.
