Calvin Lee Rhynes, 37, of Jacob City, Florida, was fatally shot on July 6, 2015 after a dispute that began over a dice game. The altercation escalated into a deadly confrontation; Rhynes was shot and then robbed during the incident.

Investigators arrested 30-year-old George Beachum Jr. of Chipley, Florida. Beachum was charged with first-degree murder with a firearm and robbery with a firearm. Court records show the case went to trial and, in March 2016, Beachum was found guilty of first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm and received two life sentences.
