Elisabethe Rose Silva, 52, was killed on May 15, 2015, at about 10:50 a.m. at the 7-Eleven on NW 103rd Street near 5th Avenue in Miami-Dade. Silva owned the store and was sitting in her car when a verbal argument with her boyfriend, 51-year-old Rudolph Anthony Gonzalez, escalated. Gonzalez retrieved a firearm from his BMW, opened the driver-side door and shot Silva multiple times, fatally wounding her.

After the shooting Gonzalez tried to flee but could not start his car because he had lost his keys. Witnesses said he smashed the passenger window, threw the gun into the car, then called police and surrendered without resistance. He was taken to a hospital for chest pains, later to the Homicide Bureau for questioning, and charged with second-degree murder. Silva and Gonzalez were not married but were living together as boyfriend and girlfriend.

The case has been handled by the Miami-Dade Police Department Homicide Bureau and raised issues of domestic violence and gun use in a public place. Does anyone have information about Silva’s life in the community or details about that day that could help the record?
