Miguel Santiago, 50, was found dead in his Lake Worth, Florida home on January 19, 2015, the victim of a violent attack. Initial reports say he suffered multiple gunshot wounds and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office treated the case as a homicide.
Investigators identified several suspects early in the inquiry. One local resident with a prior criminal history was observed near Santiago’s home the night of the killing; witnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing a vehicle speed away. That suspect was later arrested and charged with first-degree murder, and the prosecution presented evidence that the motive was likely a personal dispute between Santiago and the accused.
The case prompted strong community reaction, with vigils and memorials for Santiago and public expressions of support for his family. If anyone knew Miguel, saw activity near his home on January 19, 2015, or has information about the shooting, please come forward.
