Latwassa Lekish Argrett, 24, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, was fatally shot at her home on October 26, 2014. Born September 4, 1990, in Fort Pierce, she graduated from Continental High School in 2009 and was described as someone who loved singing and exercising. Latwassa was seven weeks pregnant at the time.

Her husband, Chekingson Sinclair, confronted her after a text message from a former boyfriend led to an argument. Sinclair shot Latwassa twice—one shot grazing her head and a second fired into the back of her head while she was prone. He then spent hours staging the scene and called 911 claiming self-defense, alleging she had attacked him with a knife. Investigators found blood spatter patterns and body positioning that contradicted his account.

Sinclair was arrested and charged with first-degree premeditated murder, murder of an unborn child, and tampering with evidence. Prosecutors said the killing had been planned; a jury found Sinclair guilty on all counts and he was sentenced to two life terms without parole. Does anyone have information about Latwassa’s life or the relationship that could shed light on what led to this tragedy?
