I've been following the case of James Anthony Smith closely, and something that’s been on my mind is the role of the eyewitnesses. It's gut-wrenching to think about how many conflicting statements were made. I can't imagine how hard it must be for James' family, knowing that there might be people out there who hold crucial pieces of information. If only one person would come forward with a detail that could finally put all the puzzle pieces together. It’s frustrating, but I really hope that the witnesses can revisit their memories with fresh perspectives or courage. Maybe with the passage of time, someone will feel able to help bring some closure to this tragic loss. My heart goes out to everyone affected.
