William Curry was 39 and lived in Okeechobee, Florida. On August 8, 2014, Curry — a personal trainer and mixed martial arts fighter — was found with gunshot wounds at his home on NE 13th Avenue after a home invasion. He wrestled with the intruders while trying to defend himself, was shot three times, and died at a hospital.

Police say the invasion was carried out by three people: Travis Spencer, Terrance Spivey, and LaTisha McBride. McBride reportedly went to the residence posing to buy drugs, and Spencer and Spivey arrived intending to rob Curry. Seven spent shell casings were recovered at the scene; Curry managed at one point to disarm one of the suspects but was ultimately overpowered and shot.

All three were taken into custody and charged in connection with the invasion and Curry’s death. Does anyone have memories of Curry in Okeechobee or information that could shed more light on what happened that night?
