SeSawn Danford, a 17-year-old African American male, was one of three teenagers shot in a Mangonia Park apartment on Australian Avenue on August 4, 2014. The shootings occurred at the Hampton Court Apartments just after 10 a.m.; neighbors reported hearing gunshots. Deputies found 19-year-old Carley Chapman and 17-year-old Martavious Brown dead at the scene. SeSawn was critically wounded and later died while being transported to the hospital.
Described by family as happy and helpful, SeSawn participated in Junior ROTC and hoped to join the Marines. His parents, Sharon Dunbar-Moore and David Danford, and the other victims families have continued to seek answers. Authorities offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, but no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been announced. The motive remains unknown.
If anyone has information about the shootings at Hampton Court Apartments that morning, please come forward.
