Tavish Terrell Greene, 24, of Panama City, Florida, was found dead on July 24, 2014. His body was discovered badly decomposed in the trunk of his 2004 Chevy Malibu after being left there for several days. Investigators determined Greene’s death resulted from a robbery that escalated into murder.

Prosecutors say Greene was lured on the morning of July 19, 2014, to the residence of his former girlfriend, Tyricka Woullard, by conspirators Darryl Mack and Dontavis Terrell Thomas. The three had planned to rob Greene of money and illegal narcotics; once he arrived he was ambushed and killed. The car was later found abandoned with his body in the trunk. Greene had been a witness to a nightclub argument in June that led to his cousin Jshun Smith’s shooting death and had allegedly received threats beforehand, but investigators did not tie the two incidents together.

Several people were charged and later sentenced: Woullard pleaded no contest to accessory after the fact to manslaughter with a firearm and principal to robbery and received 10 years; Mack’s charge was reduced to manslaughter and he received 20 years; Thomas was sentenced to five years probation as an accessory and agreed to testify. Greene’s family voiced frustration with the outcomes and with Woullard’s role as they saw it.
