Iran Francisco Maese, 35, was shot and killed on June 28, 2015, in Long Beach, California. Officers found him around 11:30 p.m. on a staircase at an apartment complex on the 700 block of Linden Avenue with gunshot wounds to the upper body; paramedics’ efforts failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Maese was described as a possible transient with no permanent address and was believed not to be a resident of the building where he was killed.
Long Beach police obtained surveillance video showing a male walking near the crime scene around the time of the shooting, described as wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and long shorts; that person is being treated as a subject of interest. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction, later extended to encourage witnesses. No arrests have been made and the motive remains unclear.
Did anyone in the area see the person in the surveillance footage or have information about Maese that could help the investigation?
