Joey Delancey Jr., 23, was shot and killed on January 22, 2014, in Miramar, Florida. The shooting happened around 9 a.m. in the driveway of a home near County Line Road and NW 2nd Avenue while he was visiting a friend. Witnesses reported multiple gunshots and then saw Joey’s body beside a silver sedan parked in the driveway.

Witnesses said the shooters arrived in a red Nissan Altima and fled immediately after the shooting. Miramar police surrounded the city’s civic center complex about seven miles north of the murder scene shortly afterward, detained two males in front of the library, found the red Nissan Altima at the plaza, and later apprehended a third suspect nearby. All three were taken into custody for questioning; no charges were filed immediately.

Joey had a 2011 arrest for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in a domestic dispute that was later dropped; investigators said there was no immediate indication that his past was connected to the murder. The community held a candlelight vigil near the scene. Does anyone have information about Joey, the red Nissan Altima, or the events that morning?
