Gladys Cabrera, 52, was fatally shot on October 18, 2012, inside a Casselberry, Florida hair salon during a targeted shooting rampage. The attacker, 36-year-old Bradford Baumet, entered the salon armed and intended to confront his 44-year-old ex-girlfriend, the salon manager and owner, and her business partner, who were scheduled to seek a permanent injunction against him that day. Gladys was at the salon with her adult daughter and became an unintended victim when she was shot in the head while seated in a salon chair and killed instantly; her daughter survived.
The shooting also killed two other women, including Noelia Gonzalez-Brito, 28, who was five months pregnant, and Eugenia Mari Marte, 45, the co-owner. Baumet critically wounded his ex-girlfriend, then fled to a nearby friend’s home and died by suicide. Reports note Baumet had an extensive criminal history that included domestic violence, stalking, trespassing, burglary and obscene phone calls, and that temporary injunctions had been in place prior to the attack.
Gladys was remembered as a wife, mother of four and grandmother of three. Does anyone have information about Gladys or recollections from Casselberry in October 2012 that could add to this record?
