Ronald Hayworth, a 50-year-old white man, was fatally shot during a robbery at the Central Food Mart in St. Petersburg, Florida, on August 17, 2008. The robbery also claimed the life of the store owner, Mohammad Uddin, and wounded another customer, Albert Barton.

According to reporting, Khadafy Mullens, described as a 30-year-old black man, fired the shots that killed Uddin and Hayworth and injured Barton. Mullens pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder; the trial court sentenced him to death for the murders and to life imprisonment for the attempted murder. Spencer Peeples was involved in the robbery but did not pull the trigger; he pleaded guilty under Florida’s felony murder law and received life without parole.

Anyone who knew Ronald Hayworth or has information about that night at the Central Food Mart is asked to come forward.
