Damarys Blanco was 19 and living in Miami when she was found shot to death during a police standoff at her home on September 20, 2006. Officers had been called after reports of gunfire; negotiations with people inside the residence lasted several hours before police used tear gas to gain entry. Inside they discovered Damarys, her grandmother Amelia Gomez, and another relative, all of whom had been shot to death.
Investigators identified a relative, Alfredo Blanco, as the primary suspect. Alfredo was found dead inside the house, and authorities concluded he was responsible for the killings. There were no further arrests or prosecutions tied to the case. The motive remains unclear, though reports indicate a domestic dispute may have escalated into the fatal confrontation.
If anyone knew Damarys, Amelia, or the family and has information about what led to the shooting, please share what you know.
