Edvard Almonor was an 18-year-old student at North Miami High School who died on April 21, 1994, after being shot in the school parking lot during lunchtime. As Rock pulled the gun out, Almonor called his name; Rock turned and the firearm accidentally discharged, striking Almonor in the chest. The bullet severely damaged his spleen, liver and kidneys, and he died shortly after the shooting.

Rock was originally charged with aggravated battery; after Almonor’s death the charge was upgraded to manslaughter and he was held without bail at the Dade County jail. Investigators determined the shooting was accidental, with no evidence of premeditation or intent, and the matter drew attention in North Miami to gun safety and the risks of handling firearms among teenagers.

Are there people who knew Edvard or who were at the school that day who can share memories or additional details?
