Donaldson Dona St. Plite, a 41-year-old Haitian radio commentator, was shot and killed on October 24, 1993, in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami. He was leaving a fundraiser at Miami Edison Middle School for the family of Fritz Dor when, at about 9:40 p.m., he was struck multiple times in the chest. St. Plite was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital but died of his wounds.
A vocal supporter of exiled Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, St. Plite had worked at WKAT-AM and WLQY-AM and was known for his pro-democracy commentary. His killing was part of a series of attacks on Haitian journalists in Little Haiti during a period of political turmoil; the FBI became involved because of possible political motives. Investigators reported no suspect description, uncertainty about the number of assailants, few witnesses and no arrests in the case.
Who in the community might have seen anything that night or has information about St. Plite’s movements after the fundraiser?
