On August 1, 1980, a mass shooting at the Kingfish Boat Ramp in Holmes Beach, Florida, killed Dr. Juan Dumois, 47; his sons Eric, 13, and Mark, 9; and local resident Robert Matzke, 60. The Dumois family, visiting from Tampa after a fishing trip, had loaded their boat onto a trailer when a man on a bicycle approached, saying he had injured his ankle and asking for a ride. The man’s bicycle was placed in the boat and he then rode in the back seat of the family’s station wagon with the children. As Dr. Dumois began to drive away, the assailant opened fire with a .22 caliber weapon, shooting the occupants in the back of the head. The vehicle jackknifed on the north shoulder of Manatee Avenue and the attacker fled on his bicycle.

Robert Matzke, who witnessed the shooting while working in his yard, chased the gunman to a nearby grocery store, confronted him, and was fatally shot. The assailant then loaded his bicycle into a tan-colored vehicle and drove away. Raymond Barrows, 54, uncle of the Dumois boys, survived the attack but later died of natural causes in 1982. Multiple suspect descriptions were given but no arrests have been made; the case remains unsolved and tips are still being sought.

Does anyone have information about the man on the bicycle, the tan vehicle, or the events around Kingfish Boat Ramp that day?
