Clifford Jamar Williams, 22, was shot and killed on December 20, 2009, in the Baltimore area while home on a two-week leave from his deployment in Afghanistan. Williams, an Army specialist and father of a 3-year-old boy, had been back in the United States three days when an unknown assailant fired multiple shots into his SUV as he returned from a grocery store in Catonsville. He drove a short distance seeking help but succumbed to his wounds.
Investigators faced difficulty locating a primary crime scene because Williams drove away from where the shooting occurred. No suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been announced; Metro Crime Stoppers and Baltimore City Police have continued to seek tips, offering up to an $8,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and felony charges.
If anyone has information about that December night or remembers seeing Williams’ vehicle in Catonsville, please contact the Baltimore City Police or Metro Crime Stoppers.
