A domestic dispute in Dublin, Georgia, turned deadly on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Forty-four-year-old Kerry Okeef Evans was shot once in the chest outside a residence on Musgrove Street and died at the scene. Evans was born in Atlanta on July 13, 1978, and had moved to East Dublin in 2018; he was a father of three children.

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office arrested Louis Kemp Jr. in connection with the shooting. Kemp Jr. was charged with murder and booked into the Laurens County jail. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist with the inquiry. Funeral services for Kerry Evans were held Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Jordan Grove Christian Center in East Dublin.
