Tommy Williams, a 56-year-old Black man remembered by family as one of the best and funniest people they knew, was killed during a violent altercation in Macon, Georgia, on the evening of October 8, 2022. Deputies were dispatched to the 1400 block of Bailey Avenue for a domestic disturbance shortly before 7:00 p.m.; while en route a second 911 call reported a shooting in the 3100 block of Napier Avenue. At Bailey Avenue deputies found Williams with gunshot wounds; at Napier Avenue they found 24-year-old Brandon Neal wounded as well. Williams was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead; Neal was listed in stable condition.

Investigators concluded both shootings were part of the same incident that began with a fight in the yard of a home on Bailey Avenue. In January 2023 deputies located Neal at a Napier Avenue residence and arrested him; his mother, Tamona Latrell Howard, was also taken into custody and charged with allegedly concealing Neal. Neal was initially charged with involuntary manslaughter and held without bond. In April 2023 a grand jury returned an indictment upgrading charges against Neal to include felony murder, aggravated assault, involuntary manslaughter, and affray, and the case was proceeding through the court system.

Does anyone have information about the fight on Bailey Avenue or the events that evening that might help investigators or the family?
