Stephanie Johnson, 50, was shot to death at her Manchester, Georgia home on September 8, 2022, after ending a relationship with her boyfriend, Kevin Hudson, in July. Johnson sent two text messages to a close friend, who called the Manchester Police Department.

When officers arrived, Hudson reportedly shot Johnson multiple times after seeing an officer outside. He fled out the back, hid the murder weapon and concealed himself under a shed until a K-9 unit found him. A neighbor later turned the weapon in; ballistics matched bullets recovered from Johnson to that firearm.
