Zachary Scott Jr, a 31-year-old Black man, was shot and later died following an altercation in Dublin, Georgia, on April 6, 2022. Police responded around 1:18 p.m. to 200 River View Drive, Apartment 214; officers found Scott unresponsive outside the residence and he was taken to Fairview Park Hospital, where he did not survive.

State investigators reported that Scott and 22-year-old De’Andrian Coady of Dublin got into an argument that turned physical and ended with Scott being shot. Authorities arrested Coady on April 7, 2022; the charges reported were one count of murder, four counts of aggravated assault, and three counts of cruelty to children in the first degree, indicating others, including children, were allegedly placed in danger during the incident.
