On the night of March 21, 2022, a home invasion in the Sunset Mountain subdivision on Chesapeake Way in Rockmart, Georgia, ended in a triple shooting. Three men inside the house — 42-year-old Clinton Matthew Aiola, Cody Daniel Fuller, 30, and Davauntee Anthony Ramsay, 30 — were shot when two people entered the residence intending to rob them. A 911 call went out at about 10:49 PM reporting the shooting.

One victim died at the scene and another died hours later at a hospital. Clinton Matthew Aiola succumbed to his injuries on March 23, 2022; Davauntee Anthony Ramsay later died after several days in critical condition. Investigators linked two men to the invasion and arrests followed: 26-year-old Carlos Favors-Battle was taken into custody March 24 in Douglasville, 28-year-old Bridgette Skye Jones was arrested April 1 on charges related to concealing a death and hindering apprehension, and 29-year-old Justin Quartez Sims was arrested April 6 in Rome. All three were booked into the Paulding County Jail without bond.
