On the night of March 21, 2022, a home on Chesapeake Way in Rockmart, Georgia, was the scene of a robbery that turned deadly. Three men inside the residence — 30-year-old Cody Daniel Fuller of Dallas, 42-year-old Clinton Matthew Aiola, and 30-year-old Davauntee Anthony Ramsay — were shot after two men entered the house intent on robbery. Aiola died at the scene; Ramsay died hours later at the hospital. Fuller survived the initial shooting but died the next day, March 22, 2022, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

Investigators identified suspects quickly. Carlos Favors-Battle was arrested March 24, 2022, Bridgette Skye Jones was arrested April 1, 2022, and Justin Quartez Sims was arrested April 6, 2022. All three faced charges including malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault and were held without bond. Justin Quartez Sims was later convicted and received three life sentences for the killings of Fuller, Aiola, and Ramsay.
