Radderian Deunte Shavion Rae-Rae Barnes, 27, was fatally shot during an armed robbery in Douglas, Georgia, on January 13, 2022. Described as a Black male known for his warm smile, Barnes was born and raised in the Douglas community where the killing occurred.
Two men were arrested in connection with the case. Sedric Powell Jr. was indicted by a Coffee County grand jury on malice murder, two counts of felony murder, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm by a first offender; the indictment alleges Powell shot Barnes during the robbery. Powell had been a convicted felon with a prior robbery sentence from April 2020. Jerome Arnold Jr., also identified in some reports as Michael Arnold Jr., was the first suspect indicted and was denied bond; the specific charges against him have not been widely reported.
The indictments indicate prosecutors intend to take the case to trial. Did anyone in Douglas know Radderian Barnes or witness events around January 13, 2022?
